FAQ

  • WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU USE IN YOUR BATH AND BODY PRODUCTS?
Olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, mango butter, coco butter, avocado oil, castor oil and rice bran oil comprise the bulk of ingredients in our soap base. In the event we use palm oil, the palm oil is RSPO certified. We follow IFRA guidelines for the safe usage of fragrance and essential oils in our recipes. All of our micas are ethically sourced and skin and bath safe for the products in which they are used. Our dyes and lakes are batch certified. While many of our products are vegan, not all are. We strive to make sure that each product is labeled for easy understanding of what is in them as well as are compliant with labeling requirements. We will highlight things like Vegan Friendly and potential allergens from additives, and in some cases - if a soap is free of things like our mainstays. For example our Carrot & Calendula bar soap uses babassu oil and is considered coconut oil free.
  • HOW LONG CAN I WAIT TO USE A PRODUCT?
Artisan Soaps - It's best to use your soap within 6 months from purchase. While handcrafted soap will get better with age, the scent and/or colors may fade over time. Regardless of when you use it, our soaps will still get you clean. Bath & Body Goodies- Depending on which bath and/or body product you have purchased, amount of time may vary due to the use of additive/action ingredients like sodium bicarbonate in bath fizzies or butters in the lotion bars and balms. Generally speaking, most bath and body goodies are best used within three to six months from purchase.
  • DO YOU ACCEPT CUSTOM ORDERS?
We accept custom orders on a case by case basis. All materials costs are due as a deposit at the time of order processing. We will work as closely as we can for client color approval and scent and packaging, but in the case of custom soap loaves, some artistic license is expected. Please contact us to discuss options and ordering. Please be aware that handmade soap does require a 4 to 6 weeks cure time and take this in consideration for your event. While we try to vary our formulations to meet all skin types and preferences, please understand that, unfortunately, our products may not be suitable for all people.
  • HOW DO YOU HANDLE ALLERGENS?
The beautiful thing about handmade artisan products means that we can use a variety of additives and ingredients often not found in mass produced soaps. While we do our best to mitigate cross contamination, please be aware that at some point, one ingredient may have been in contact with another ingredient - this is similar to the standard disclaimer that states, "This product has been processed in a facility that also processes ______". Please contact us if you have additional questions or concerns.
  • WHAT DOES IT MEAN "WEIGHT MAY VARY" ON ARTISAN SOAP BARS?"
Because our soaps vary from the decorations to the cut and planing (all done by hand), weights from bar to bar and batch to batch are never exactly the same. Most of our soaps will range from 3 ounces to 6 ounces. Prices are based upon lowest bar weight per batch. Any soap that weighs more is just more value for money. Please note, handcrafted soap continues to lose water through evaporation as it cures and, thus, will lose weight as well. This evaporation makes for a finer and longer lasting bar despite the loss.
